In the Victorian period, when this brooch was made, ivy leaves symbolised everlasting love, friendship and fidelity. The ivy leaf on this brooch is particularly nicely modelled, set with creamy seed pearls, and on the end of an engraved gold vine.
Overall the brooch is in great antique condition and ready to wear. There is some scratching to the lapis bead and minor surface wear to the gold. The pin is base metal and is a bit bent, but closes securely.
15ct gold (unmarked but tested to confirm). Pin is base metal.
